Premier Takes Students on Royal Excursion

While in London on the occasion of the Tenth Overseas Territories Consultative Council Meeting (OTCC), Premier Hon. Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE hosted Virgin Islanders studying and living in the United Kingdom and their guests for an all-day excursion to Windsor Castle followed by lunch on Saturday 25 October, 2008.
Following welcome remarks during lunch by the Director of the BVI London Office, Dawn J. Smith, the Premier encouraged the students to take their studies seriously as they will have an important role to play in the British Virgin Islands in the years ahead. He also urged the students to broaden their horizons by travelling around in the United Kingdom and across to mainland Europe. Hon. Keith Flax, who was a part of the Premier’s delegation to the OTCC, also made remarks encouraging the students to pursue their studies purposefully and to make their contributions to the Territory.
While in Windsor, the Premier and his delegation were received by the Deputy Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Counsellor Mrs. Catherine Bursnall.
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and one of the official residences of Her Majesty the Queen.
