Financial Services Roadshows
Record numbers of leading figures from the Swiss international business and financial services sectors attended The British Virgin Islands International Finance Centre (BVI IFC) Switzerland Roadshows held in Zurich and Geneva.
More than 280 business, financial and legal professionals turned out to take part in the‘BVI – Opportunities for Growth in Financial Services’ roadshows. They were held in Zurich on Monday 25th April and in Geneva on 27th April 2005.
The purpose of the road shows was to highlight recent developments in the regulatory and legislative frameworks in the BVI, and the measures introduced to enhance the jurisdiction’s attractiveness and accessibility for international business.
The success of the roadshow has been widely attributed to the involvements of both the public and private sectors. High-level Government and regulatory officials from the BVI, including the Hon Ronnie Skelton, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Finance & Economic Development and Robert Mathavious, Managing Director and Chief Executive of the BVI Financial Services Commission, joined forces with senior representatives from the private sector to make presentations on Trust Legislation, Investment Business and Corporate Issues.
Switzerland is the latest stop for the BVI roadshow, which has visited a number of key international finance centres across the world since the event was first launched 18 months ago, including: London (October 2003); New York (March 2004); Singapore and Hong Kong (May 2004) and Miami (November 2004.)
